Sooooo!

As I mentioned in my last entry, I've gotten back into Petz recently. I realize that most of my readers here will have no clue what I'm really doing here, so I'm going to try to explain what this is without making me sound like a crazy person lol

I've been selling and buying (mostly buying) Petz from PUGS (petzuniversal.com), and I've also been participating in the events there to get event points to buy even more Petz. (I have two great ones I've bought with my EP already!) But it's getting harder and harder to work towards those quests now that, number one, I have less time (family's staying at our house and will be for quite a bit), and number two, the remaining quests are just a pain to complete. I've actually been working on two of them for about a week now, and I'm so close, but SOOOOO FAR. Seriously, I've bred both of my "so close" couples probably five hundred times and still haven't gotten them. Urgh.

So it's nice to take a break from the headache that is those breeding quests and focus on a gameplay contest instead!

Day One

-Introduce us to the Pet you'll be doing the Gameplay with. What's his/her name? Why did you choose this pet? Is this a pet that's special to you, or are you hoping to get to know this pet more?
-This is a special day for your pet. The beginning of a new friendship! Why not dress them up for the occasion? See if there's anything fancy in the Clothes Closet or Salon that suits your pet!
-Okay, let's face it. Not every pet loves dressing up. They'd much rather have a toy to play with! Let's get out some toys and see if your pet takes to any specific toy. If so, let's head to the backyard for some one-on-one playtime with you and your buddy!
-Well, after wearing a pet down with lots of running and messing about in the yard, they naturally work up an appetite! Before we call it a day, why don't you see if there's some food they'll like to eat? Remember, if the 'bowl bouncing' issue annoys any P4 users, going to the Desktop or Playpen should help!

So to my LJ friends who don't know, a Petz gameplay contest is to play the game and complete daily tasks without the (super useful) PetzA mod. Basically, it's playing the game how it's "supposed" to be played. I recently did a gameplay contest on one of the Petz forums and really enjoyed getting to know the two Dogz I had take part, so I'm excited to tackle another one! Anyhoo... on to the tasks for the day.

This little lady is Lizard! She was a breeding reject from a previous PUGS event quest that I did manage to complete. I was going for chinchilla persians, and breeding chinchilla persians, and I got a Maine coon with an alley cat personality instead. Go fig. (Actually, I got two... she has a brown-furred sister that I also kept!). She wasn't what I was going for at all, obviously, but her looks were so neat I just had to keep her. I chose her because, well, her looks again... but also because she's a fairly new cat and I wanted to get to know her better. (Plus, since I did my previous gameplay with Dogz, I thought I'd use a Catz this time.

Well, she sure seems more interested in the rag at the salon than in getting dressed.

I first put a red collar on her, which she tolerated, and then put a blue bow on her head to match her eyes (sort of), which she also tolerated. Actually, when snapping pics, I was surprised to find that she never acted like an alley cat. She meows like one, even as a kitten, but I have yet to see her hiss or scowl at me. Very interesting. She may be like my mutt Guy from my last gameplay, who although technically has a mutt personality, acts a lot like a poodle in certain circumstances. It's just harder to tell with Lizard what the breed other than alley cat she's acting like. Maybe Maine coon? She has a Maine coon face, so we'll go with that.

She's still fascinated by that darn rag, which I can't really attribute to any breed other than just Lizard being Lizard, apparently.

Switched out the red collar for a blue one to match her bow. This is usually how she poses when taking pictures... the "I am an awesome cat and you aren't" pose. I think most Catz breeds pose like this every so often.

-Okay, let's face it. Not every pet loves dressing up. They'd much rather have a toy to play with! Let's get out some toys and see if your pet takes to any specific toy. If so, let's head to the backyard for some one-on-one playtime with you and your buddy!

I apparently misread this and headed to the backyard first. Oops. I would say no big deal, but Lizard was totally distracted from any toys for the first few minutes because of this...

That's right. Lizard found a lizard.

And once I finally thought she had stopped caring about the lizard, this raccoon showed up. Great. Just great.

Now, since the lizard and raccoon are both mice replacements and hexed off the mice, they both got totally freaked out when they saw a Catz in the backyard and just ran around in panicked circles. Lizard was darting her head back and forth, trying to watch both of them, and it was HILARIOUS. I only have a still picture from it, but just imagine her head twisting and jerking every which way at a speed of like a thousand miles per hour, and that's what was going on here. :)

Finally, the backyard critters ran off, and Lizard and I were able to try out some toys.

She wasn't too interested in the yarn ball.

The jingle ball, however, seemed to please her. She wasn't ecstatic or anything, but she did pounce on it.

It didn't really last long, though. She seems way more interested in the cursor than any toys.

But she then picked up the jingle ball with her mouth, jumped up on the fence, and dropped the ball, looking down at it with this expression. She reminds me of my infant/toddler daughter throwing things off of her high chair and then look down at what she just threw off as if she wants it back. IF YOU WANTED IT WHY DID YOU PURPOSELY DROP IT

I decided to try one last toy, a squeaky toy, before calling it a day. She was pretty unsure at first, as you can see...

But she quickly got over her fears. ;)

Whoops, can't call it a day just yet. I plopped down the red cat food bowl in front of her and she immediately began to chow down. Well... that was easy. ;)

I'll link the day two entry here when I get it done and posted (hopefully tomorrow). One day down, nine to go! I hope I'm able to finish this. ^^;
