Petz Gameplay Day 2

-It's a new day! How about starting it out with a new friend? Are there any other Petz you'd like to introduce your pet to? Adults are almost always going to be friendly towards puppies or kittens, so it should be easy to find them a friend for the moment. Try a bunch of Petz out and see if there's one your pet likes the best!
-Sometimes Petz need to get to know each other a little better to ensure their relationship will stay strong. Let's go to the beach with some toys, and have your pet and their selected friend have some quality time together! Make sure to keep the Petz out of reach of the ocean waves...or the party will be ruined fast!
-After heading home later, let's make sure the Petz get some of that sand cleaned off of them! They could also use a good meal, or maybe even a drink! See if they'll get any water from a bowl first, and then offer them some dinner.
-Today was a long beach day! Take your Petz to the Family Room with some pillows for a nice nap. Does your pet have a favorite pillow? Tomorrow will be busier!

I selected four Petz to take out with her, not exactly at random, but they are a bit of a random assortment. Hopefully she'll get along with at least one of them!
First up is FlameTorch, my amazingly awesome squirrel hexed by Cyove. I've actually been naturally raising him, although he's nearly fully grown now, obviously. And he's hexed off of a B&W shorthair, so since this is technically two catz meeting, I'm hoping for a positive interaction.
Looks good so far.
...but then Lizard fell asleep. oh God this is a repeat of my previous gameplay in which the Petz slept for half of it, isn't it? Please tell me it isn't.
IT IS. >.<
I took care of a few things online while they slept. FlameTorch woke up first, so I pet him and put him away, which caused Lizard to wake up... and do a happy dance. I guess she doesn't like him after all. Darn. Next!
This is Fiori! He's just a lovely bred oshie mix who I adopted from Sydney@Saturn from the RKC forum awhile ago. I've always loved his looks, but I haven't done a whole lot with him (in fact, I considered using him for this gameplay).
Once again, the initial meeting is promising.

Despite what that cute pic would have you think, though, they kind of ignored each other. After awhile, I decided to put Fiori away, and...
Lizard got sad! She likes him! Definitely a contender to be her pal for the day.
Next up is Sarsaparilla, a DOG! Shocker of shocks. She, like Lizard, came from breeding for the PUGS event, but unlike Lizard, Sarsaparilla was the end goal, not a reject. It took me FOREVER to breed this exact dog, so keeping in mind how much effort it took to breed her, plus how darn pretty she is, I just had to keep her. Let's see how she tolerates the company of a cat!

Sarsaparilla looks to be mildly annoyed, just like me.
I waited awhile to see if Lizard would wake up, played a bit with Sarsaparilla, and took care of a few more things online, but still Lizard slept. I decided to call Sarsaparilla a bust here... looks like she just bores Lizard. She did wake up when I put Sarsaparilla away, but had no reaction to her leaving, neither positive nor negative.
Finally, the last potential friend I picked out for Lizard, Star! Star is one of my very oldest Petz, and although I hate to play favorites... yes, he is one of my favorites. He's a third generation calico/tabby/oshie mix, and while I know his looks aren't anything special, he was the most unique Catz I'd ever seen back when he was born in February of 1999 (yeah, he's OLD). He was my first, and for a long time, my only show Petz, and he's got a great personality to match. I'll always look for an opportunity to take him out and play with him. :)
We finally got a reaction better than an indifferent tolerance from Lizard! She likes Star! She was bounding all around when they got to know each other! As for Star...

Anyway, this seemed to be the best mutual match-up, so to the beach with Star we go!

The first thing Star and Lizard did at the beach was to sit down and meow out some tunes for us. It really is a beach party now! We have music! That is, if you count caterwauling as music.
I took out a few balls for them to play with. Lizard loved the soccer ball and immediately started batting it around. Star looked at her like she was nuts.
I tried to get Star interested in the beach ball. He was mildly interested at first, but when I tried to snap a picture to show it, he sat down and looked at me like this, and then closed his eyes and stuck his nose in the air. Sigh. That's the problem with snapping pics for a gameplay contest... you want to get a good pic of your Petz in action, but all they want to do when they hear that camera is POSE!
Well, at least the camera couldn't distract Lizard from attacking that soccer ball.

Time to clean up! I plopped them both in the bath at the salon and scrubbed them clean.
And then took them both out and toweled them off. Looks like Star's as fascinated with the sponge as Lizard is with the rag.
I then took them to the desktop to give them a drink of water... and it was basically a giant mess. This is the best I could get out of them...
Please notice that, while they are standing still (about the only way I COULD get them to stand still was to snap pics), the water is untouched.
Lizard decided that the water dish was only for pouncing on.
Star, on the other hand, decided to play with both of the dishes I put out AT THE SAME TIME.
Since all they were doing was playing and distracting each other, I put Star away to see if Lizard would drink without any distractions. She didn't. She just continued to pounce and bat at the water bowl. I can't think of a time I've ever gotten a Petz to drink out of the water bowl. I seem to remember that their hunger has to be at 0 before they will, so obviously Lizard's hunger isn't that low. Looks like the answer to "will they drink" is a big fat no.
She will eat, though! Although she's angry about it for some reason.

My plans were ruined once again by that darn raccoon. Lizard helpfully chased it back into its hole. To insure no distractions for naptime, I closed the mouse holes.
Lizard then got distracted by the jingle ball in the room. Not in the picture, but yes, that's what she's stalking here.
She kept running around the room without even noticing the pillows, so I finally picked her up and set her down right in the middle of them. She did start to paw at them, but then took off again. I guess she got all her napping in at the beginning of today's tasks. Would have made way more sense to wait until now, Lizard...
I guess she's too wired to nap. Oh well! Hope she has energy for the next day! See you then!
