Day 24 - A letter to your parents
Dear Mom,
I honestly find it a huge invasion of my privacy that you haven't just asked for a key to my new apartment, you EXPECT one. And no, I don't care that you have a key to Tim and Laura's house too, so of course you should have one for me and James as well! But I'm still going to cave and make a spare key for you. Why? Because I still have a key to your house, and I don't want to give that up, and I realized how hypocritical that would be of me if I had your key but not vice-versa. It's not that I don't trust you... it's more just, hello, I'm your twenty-six-year-old, married daughter. Why do you need my key? But. I'm giving it to you anyway, because I know you won't let it drop. You're friggin' welcome!
Other than that, thanks for raising me well and all, the usual. You drive me crazy, but I still appreciate you. (As I'm sure you'd say the same about me.)
Dad... keep doing what you're doing, I guess. And yes, I have a snow shovel. And snow boots. And snow gloves. You can stop giving me a new pair of each every winter.
