Everyone, meet this surprisingly-bad-tempered-for-a-tabby sophisticated lady: Princess. Princess was the second Catz adopted in our Petz 3 game, her mate Aaorn being the first. (And yes, you will be seeing him, too.) I thought, when tackling the other breeds, "I do have at least one of every breed first-generation. Why not stamp this project as truly my own and use them?" So Princess donated her DNA to the tabbies project, along with fifteen other tabbies. ;)

As far as first-generation tabby variations go... Princess is it. There are none. Only slight differences in their stripe pattern, and that's about it. They don't even have any different eye colors when you first start out. So I wasn't sure what to expect from this one.

Well... here's what I got. :D

Well, looks like the stripes don't mutate, but I think I already knew that. I didn't get too many eye mutations, either, and they all mutated to a brown shade. At least I did get some differentiation from the norm. The snout mutates separately from the rest of the body! That's cool. :) I didn't get too many colors, but hey, four out of ten ain't bad. Especially considering that I had the dust and the tan colors show up in generation two, but then had nothing else until the very last kitten of generation five there was an OMG SURPRISE BROWN! And I love the way the brown tabby stripes look against the brown fur. You can barely see them!

All-in-all, I got some adorable purebred kittens again. I'm tempted to keep a few of them... :)

Meet Rufus, my second oldest Dogz! His mate, Dana, is older than him by a few minutes. Princess, Aaron, Dana, and Rufus were all adopted on December 23, 1998, the day my brother and I got Petz 3 (I believe as an early Christmas present). So yeah... very old, and very special. They hold tons and tons of sentimental value for me. :) So, of course, I had to use Rufus in the sheepdog breeding project. I own one other sheepdog, named Zetra, but she's something like 7-8th generation, ie not straight out of the adoption center. She's also gorgeous--black top and cream bottom. :) (And, of course, my muttlies are technically sheepdogs too, but practicality speaking they're their own separate breed since they look so vastly different.)

I think sheepdogs are my second-favorite Dogz breed, after poodles. They have a great look to them (although the wrong combinations of that look can sometimes look ridiculous in mixies) and I love their laid-back attitude. The fact that I even adopted Zetra (quite awhile ago, in fact) at all despite not breeding purebred sheepdogs in my game is probably proof of me always having a soft spot for them. So I was really looking forward to what I was going to come up here.

The only real variations sheepdogs have is they either have a tail, like Rufus, or they don't. The tailed ones either have a tip on their tail (again, like Rufus) or they don't. I also noticed that the "bottom" half of their fur (the grey in all first-generations) can extend down their legs at different lengths--some of them stopped before back feet, while some of them extended so that it almost covered them. I'd never noticed that before. As far as eyes go, they all have that exact same blue color.

So... what did I manage to come up with?

unf omg you guys i'm gonna die

Just... wow. I love sheepdogs. :D And I have to admit, amidst all the, yes, amazing dust and red and brown I got (and solid-colored sheepies, too, how cool is that?), I am totally digging the very subtle mutation on number 9 here. Whereas a normal, first-generation sheepdog would have a grey bottom... his is blue. They are so similar in Petz, but the difference here is striking. Go number 9!

Four down, twenty-six to go. Next up is desert lynxes and golden retrievers. My God, I'm having way too much fun with this. XD
