I'm a day late, but oh well.

1. What did you do in 2012 that you'd never done before?
Got a master's degree and got married. You know, nothing major. (cough)

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I didn't make any, and am not making any for this year.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
A few old friends, but none of my very close friends/family.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
Nope.

5. What countries did you visit?
None this year. Well, I did go to Vegas. Surely that counts, right?

6. What would you like to have in 2013 that you lacked in 2012?
Mental stability. ^^; I used to have mental breakdowns maybe once a year. I had three major ones in 2012. Urgh.

7. What date from 2012 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
August 10th. I got married, and will from here on out have to remember that date to buy "happy anniversary" cards for my husband.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Finally getting my master's degree. Not that it's helped me much in the job market, but I'm still keeping my fingers crossed and applying and interviewing. Someday soon something will turn up.

9. What was your biggest failure?
I guess all the mental breakdown issues. I'm not proud of myself for the way I acted during any of them.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Nothing major.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
Jeez, I dunno. Those Goldfish crackers were pretty tasty. :/

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
James for putting up with me even when I told him I didn't love him anymore and didn't care if he left. Hooray mental breakdowns.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
James's ex-wife. :/ And mine, of course. James has a bad track record of marrying crazy bitches. (At least I acknowledge my dickishness and work to improve it.)

14. Where did most of your money go?
Food, rent, gas

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Getting the wedding over it. Never going through that again. And that includes a renewal of vows ceremony. Weddings suck. I mean, ours was okay and nice and the day did turn out wonderfully and all, but I can tell you that I'm SO glad it's over.

16. What song will always remind you of 2012?

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:

i. happier or sadder?
Here's my answer from last year:
Happier, overall. But asking if 2011 was a happier or sadder year than 2010 just doesn't cover it. In a lot of ways I've been insanely happier, but in a lot of ways I've been way worse. Let's just say it's been a year of extremes--the happy times were the happiest I've ever been, and the sad times were the most miserable I've ever been.
Take that times ten, and that was my 2012. :/

ii. thinner or fatter? Fatter, although not by much.

iii. richer or poorer? I think I'm a little poorer, actually. Blame the wedding, I suppose. And my car needing a new battery.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Writing

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Having mental breakdowns.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?
We went to Madison, Wisconsin to spend it with my Aunt Monica.

21. At any point in the past year did you do something that you consider completely out of your usual character?
Getting married in an actual ceremony. :/

22. Did you fall in love in 2012?
Only more with my husband.

23. How many one-night stands?
None.

24. What was your favorite TV program?
Heh.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
No.

26. What was the best book you read this year?
pphtt. I can't even remember what all I read this year. The last book I read was "Butter" by Erin Jade Lange, which was very good.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
My butt trumpet.

28. What did you want and get?
A marriage certificate

29. What did you want and not get?
Complete sanity.

30. What was your favorite film of this year?
Lincoln

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I... worked. :/ I turned 26.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
A better job.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2012?
Clothing.

34. What kept you sane?
Cartoons, James, music... all three at once even more so. :) (last year's answer, still the same... although not that I watched many cartoons this year)

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
None

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
The bullshit presidential election between Douchebag #1 and Douchebag #2.

37. Who did you miss?
My sanity

38. Who was the best new person you met?
I don't think I really met anyone new this year.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2012.
Just getting through each day is an accomplishment.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
...I'll get back to you.

Sorry that the answers are a little sore and curt. I'm dealing with a sore throat right now, and James and I are about to head out, so I've had to cut them a little short. I shall be thinking of a song lyric that summed up 2012 while out on the town. (update: still can't think of any. Giving up. Whoo.)
